Meet Yours Truly, a Single Friend Who Definitely Has Great Expectations

Firstly, I couldn’t characterize myself as pleasantly happy as an “independent” (aka: naturally single) person and remain an honest woman. Even then, I’m not unhappy in that way, either. I only suggest it in this blog as a delicious piece of info foreshadowing what I am about to explain in grand style.

A week ago today I met for coffee with Trisha, considering signing up for a Dallas Singles dating service. As of this minute, I type to each of you as a fully satisfied member of the matchmaking service. Seriously, it’s true. It’s full of fun, attractive people! If you know me at all, you’re probably thinking, “You totally owe me an explanation.”

Here’s how it went down, I looked at these Great Expectations Reviews and liked what I saw. They’re for the honest singles who care enough to know dating should mean something.

Because in all honesty I’d never been a fan of the ridiculous nightlife ritual a lot of singles have christened “The Dating Game.” I heard it more than you know. Day and night people nagg, “Are you seeing somebody?” and “Please tell me you two are dating.”

“Ugh, and double ugh.” I reply, and playfully so. “Have you seen what’s out there?”

“Whatever doofus,” they reply. “How would you know, you haven’t seen Friday Night Magic in a year!”

Thankfully, that’s my sister (on a good day) hah! Stacey Holland. She offers rational thought to my brain to set me straight. Loved ones are always there for fresh advice. She made a good point, and I thank her for it.

Returning to the message of this post. As I browsed from hundreds of combinations of outfits for my first Great Expectations date, I acknowledged something honest. Over the last year, I hadn’t held any figurative great expectations for dating in the serendipitous winding course of being alive. It’s good to be single, even more so when you get out there and have fun. Embracing your own great expectations makes a difference on a cynics social life.
