If you’re going to play poker online, then you need chips too. These are also readily available through online sites, and can vary from inexpensive plastic chips to sturdier clay chips that are used in casinos. You’ll need at least 300 chips for six players, and 900+ for larger games.
Card quality can differ too. The paper cards most people are familiar with can be purchased just about anywhere. Casinos use plastic cards, from manufacturers such as Copag and Kem, because these are very sturdy and resist bending. These are available online.
When hosting a home game, you should also have a book of rules handy to settle any disputes that might arise. Casinos always have established rules that are enforced if any controversies arise, and it’s a good policy for a home game too.
If you want to play tournament style poker, then you’ll need a timer too.
