Looking for a Job Using the Web to Your Advantage

A modern job search campaign is by nature quite Byzantine. While the internet has offered a variety of new channels, it also creates increased competition for choice jobs and possible challenges for job hunters.

Job search needs to be thought of as a personalized, very aimed marketing operation where you are the product. Your resume is an advertisement. Your extended network is your inside source for information and job leads.

So where does the web fit in? At AA-Careers, we just posted a job on Craigslist and got over 650 responses in a week. For one position. That’s increased job hunting competition.

Had the right person contacted us before we placed the ad, they could have gotten the position before having all that competition. How? By knowing someone at our office who became aware of the job prior to posting. Everyone was aware of the job for at least 10 days before it was posted. Who in your network might know of a job that’s coming available soon?

Be sure to check your cover letter and resume carefully! When we did an analysis of the 650 resumes, we found a large number of errors. 63% of the applicants were easily removed with a quick triage process. How? The same way any manager would. By eliminating resumes where the objective didn’t match our position description. By passing over candidates whose cover letters gave us grounds not to hire them, like "I know I’m overqualified but I really need a job". By eliminating prospects whose documents that didn’t open properly. And by passing over candidates who didn’t bother to spell check their cover letter and/or resume.

So the good news is that job boards give you a feel of who is hiring, and for what kinds of positions. But once those positions are posted, the competition is intense. You can still compete, if you have a well honed resume, designed to appeal directly and clearly to the recruiter. And if you have practiced interviewing – so you don’t stumble at a critical point.

Another issue to be aware of is how quickly and easily you can be investigated on the internet. As we Googled several candidates, we ran into some MySpace comments that were in questionable taste. Nothing larcenous, but enough to tilt our thinking about who to choose.

AA-Careers provides a encompassing set of services for Bay Area job seekers, providing our clients a personal career consultant, a managed job hunting campaign, modern tools like a personal website, video, highly targeted resume, and much more. Let us know if we can help you.

Be careful out there, and good hunting!

Why You Should Know About the Tempering Process

If you’re one of those chocolate lovers out there who has probably had tasted a lot of the good and bad chocolates out there, you probably know how to look for the one with the finest quality. You also probably know that chocolates with crumbs and those with whitish-gray spots on its surface haven’t gone through the process of proper tempering.

Chocolate with the finest quality are characterized by shiny and smooth texture, it is neither crumbly nor flaky. If you try to split in pieces, it will not produce any crumbs; it will just snap and will melt in your mouth. Chocolatiers temper their chocolate to get that features that only the finest quality chocolate could have.

Cocoa butter is what makes the chocolate rich and real, and it’s also the reason behind the need to temper chocolates. Cocoa butter have its own unique way of crystallization process, the fatty acids in the cocoa butter, during the cool down process right after melting can form six different crystals and what kind of crystal that does form is dictated by chocolate temperatures.

It is very important that you keep a watchful eye on its temperature because sudden change in the temperature may produce unnecessary types of crystals which can impair the whole chocolate. Crystals are identified from Type I to Type VI, and the one responsible for the creaminess and glossiness of the chocolate is the Type V crystals. Ergo, you have to control temperatures during chocolate tempering, to make sure that you get only as much Type V crystals as possible.

What makes temperature control necessary is the fact that tempering by hand, done through tabliering or seeding, is quite vulnerable to inconsistencies in final output qualities. Manual tempering is also exposed to such external factors as humidity, chocolatier skill, and thermometer integrity besides temperature levels so you’re never certain from one production to the next if your efforts will yield the same quality of products as the preceding ones.

To eliminate such unpredictability in product quality, you can use chocolate tempering machines which would automate the tempering process as well as ensure that each production time you’ll be producing the same quality chocolate confectioneries. Each tempering machine comes equipped with a computer chip that directs the melting-cooling-re-heating paces of tempering as well as sustain temperatures evenly throughout. Such automation translates not only to consistent quality products but also to more time concentrating on dipping and molding rather than multitasking between watching temperatures and creative design.

But read on - for that’s not the end of the story. There’s even more you will want to know . With over 13,000 prizes being offered the odds of winning something work out to around one per every six. When compared with prizes given by other lotteries, that’s nothing to be scoffed at.

To enter the lottery, one choice is a full ticket, called a “serie”. The other option is cheaper; called a “d©cimo” which is worth one-tenth of a full ticket. Unfortunately, both options are pricey ways to play nor will either of them boost your prospects of a payout . That’s why many players of the El Gordo lotto take advantage of the e-lottery system.

In the Euromillions Euro lottery there is one draw per month. Richer prizes can be expected from special lotteries held three months a year. Richest and the most popular of all the drawings is “Elgordo” which is held around Christmas, while the other two special drawings are set for January (”El Nio”) and in summer (”San Ildefonso”).

Unlike other lottery systems, the El Gordo Lottery employs balls with five digits printed on each ranging from 00,000 to 84,999. The system requires two bowls, with one used to decide the winning number, while the second decides the amount.

The e-lottery system guarantees a prize for everyone who takes part. Simply buy your way into the Euromillions Euro Lotto syndicate where you’re pooled into teams. Each team is assigned an identifying number from 1-9, the last digit of the winning number in the draw being used to identify the team that wins the prize. All members then receive their share of the money. Then, everyone subscribes again for the draw the following month and it starts all over again.

We strongly suggest you take a look at this terrific webpage for lotto syndicate clues…

Why You Should Choose Online Betting when You Bet on the Full Time Score of a Match

If you are looking at starting online betting, you may at first feel a little bit intimidated by the terms and nature of the entire thing. This piece is here to help in explaining the rudiments so you can feel more relaxed with getting on a betting site and opening an online betting account right away! Absorb the rest of this article and identify what is useful to you; if you’ve had a flutter with live bookmakers in the past and are considering moving into the domain of online betting, you will doubtless be gratified to observe it’s not all that different! If you are wholly new to all this then continue to read on!

The Essential Principles:

When you wager, you are putting your money on a specific outcome. If you’re correct, you win, and you will win more money than you originally bet. If you are incorrect, you will lose - some or all your bet. Since this piece is totally about sports events, we shall be concentrating on that, but the same will apply for casino games also. In the bookmakers’ arena, however, you might discover that you can bet on nearly any event you wish, running from any sports to politics, or maybe television events like award shows.

Let us Examine a Typical Case of a Straightforward Sports Wager:

You pick out Team A to beat Team B in a football game. You bet £100 on them to take all 3 points (also known as a Straight bet, or a Win bet.) On your bet, there are 2/1 odds (which you can also find expressed as 2.00 in American odds, or 3.00 in decimal odds.) If your club succeeds, you’ll receive from them £300 - you win a two hundred pound profit, and get back your original £100 stake. If Team B triumphs, you lose the wager, and hence your stake.
Outside of a Straight bet, there are plenty of other types of wagers you can place, for instance place bets, lay bets, betting with handicaps and spreads, or finding means to bet to increase or alter your overall odds of success.

As you begin, you may feel that the Win bets are the easiest to comprehend, but as you progress, do feel free to delve into some of the more elaborate bets with your profits. You will find some of the most readily available at a great many turf accountants and betting exchanges.

Why Buying Prescription Glasses Online Should Be Taken into Consideration

There are many similarities as well as many differences to buying prescription glasses online. The procedure of trying on glasses definitely differs a bit. The way returns and exchanges take place differ as well. Many people prefer in person dealings as opposed to phone or internet sales. However, the enormous selection on the internet far outbalances any selection of glasses in a retail store. The prices tend to be less costly online as well due to lowered prices involving overhead and third party shipping agreements. Business hours are a major difference as well. Internet sites are accessible 24 hours a day. This means you can shop and purchase the glasses you want as well as explore all the information you need to make a decision anytime day or night. Actual store locations typically keep normal business hours.

Many online shops offer live chat at the web site, or a toll-free phone number that enables you to speak with a live representative. If you are not able to reach a live person because it is outside of normal working hours, there is usually an FAQ section that can normally answer the questions that you may have. When it comes to your local eyecare center or discount chain store you would, you would have to wait until the next day to receive an answer. Eyeglass lens prices can also be significantly higher in most retail stores as compared to online resellers. Web sites like Eyeglasses.com offer a large selection of eyeglass lenses and lens options. Buying replacement lenses online is easy as well. Numerous eyecare shops can also easily replace lenses but their prices are typically much higher.

Liverpool Expects Revival of Commercial Property Market

Though the stability of the UK commercial property market has not been fully attained, the English Cities Fund composed of the Homes and Communities Agency, Legal & General and Muse Developments has announced its willingness to go ahead with its new projects in Liverpool city centre.

The redevelopment project at St. Paul’s Square has already been through the first two phases and has entered the third one, on completion of which it will be able to offer office space of approximately 110,000 sq ft. The project is expected to be completed by mid 2011 and will be rented out as soon as possible for a least £22 per sq ft.

The fund members said that contrary to the general opinion that the project will reach its completion with the originally pledged investments of £8.8m, they have had to pump in extra money on their own to finish the project. The major contributors for the project are the Northwest European Regional Development Fund and the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

According to Chris Lloyd, the Associate Director at Office Agency of DTZ, Liverpool, the project will be completed at the right time as there are no similar projects going on, which will in turn make it the only one in the whole of North West offering such large shared office spaces.

The plans also have in store a Pall Mall office development in 228,000 sq ft area that is to come up with collaboration of Ashley Moore and Desmond Wilson. This £70m project is going to add to the positive trend in office space availability in the area.

Poker Tracker3 and HUD’s

Recently a friend of mine purchased Poker Tracker 3 and started using its Heads-Up-Display on PokerStars. The poker clients that work 100% with this software are PokerStars, FullTilt, Everest, Pacific, iPoker, and Cereus (absolute and UB). The software works on Cake, but does not allow HUD displays, which is a shame because this is the casino site I play most regularly at. My friend, who plays mostly SNG tournaments, has already had great success using the HUD. He played a $12 180-man SNG and took 2nd place, as well as a few positive sessions multitabling one and two-table SNG’s. While this success is obviously over too small of a sample size to be representative of the software’s aid, he expressed a serious excitement over it. He told me that it really helps him play on his reads. While the site gathers information on your opponents as you play with them, you still have to apply it correctly to have it benefit your poker performance. In one situation, he had planned to re-steal from a late-position opener, but then glances at the HUD stats. He noticed that the player had only raised once in the last 60 hands, so instead of playing the guessing game, he decided to credit the player with a good hand and folded his cards. You can customize the quick stats on the HUD to whatever you feel will help you the most. And the more you play, the more information it collects for you. Unlike training sites, Poker Tracker only charges you a one-time fee of $90 to purchase the software, which you can use on up to 2 computers. If you’re serious about online poker, this seems like a no brainer purchase. The only real downside is that it could turn into a crutch if you rely on it too heavily and could certainly affect your live poker play.

UK Businesses Expected to save Costs over Dedicated Servers Report

Outsourcery, one of the leading providers of dedicated servers, managed hosting and hosting IT communications, has launched its new Dedicated Windows 2008 Servers. This solution, which got favorable reviews, will provide businesses in United Kingdom the opportunity to host websites and business applications on their own dedicated server within the secure state of the art data center by Outsourcery. The good thing about this is that the clients won’t have to install or buy it themselves.

The increasing costs associated with managing in-house servers have challenged companies in managing their operations. This led to the increasing demand by small and medium-sized companies on running applications on servers provided by outsourcing companies such as Outsourcery.

The Dedicated Windows 2008 Server gives complete reliability and maximum performance without the need to purchase and install expensive hardware and hiring in house IT staff to maintain the servers.

Data security is still assured despite availing of this service since there’s no need to share the server with other companies. The customers can easily log on to the server through any remote location and have complete control over the applications and services.

Outsourcery will be installing Microsoft Windows Web Server 2008 OS as a standard. The customers are still given the option to upgrade the server if this is required by their business operations. This gives flexibility in terms of availing of advanced virtualization features of Windows Server 2008 Standard and Enterprise.
