Home & Office Phone Guide: Siemens Gigaset Phones

If you are looking for a state-of-the-art phone then the Siemens Gigaset Phone range has everything that you need.Perhaps you are a small team and are often on the move and therefore unable to get to the phone to talk to your clients. An answer phone service is just want you need and with the Siemens Gigaset C475 you get this functionality so regardless of what your clients have to say, you can catch it all and listen again.Little is more annoying than missing a call and not knowing who has called or even what the number was. This can be especially problematic for your teenage son or daughter who I am guessing spends most of her time with the phone glued to their ear. The Siemens Gigaset A265 records a list of missed calls and has a battery able to provide decent talk time - not that we should be encouraging your children to spend hours on the phone., so the Siemens Gigaset C595 comes complete with a digital phonebook to store all those important contact details. This particular Siemens Gigaset home phone is also very ECO friendly; reducing power consumption and transmission power and letting you communicate without harming the planet. You can even send sms messages. Many of the cordless phones in the Gigaset range allow you to add up to 6 handsets to the base station. This gives you the option of having phones all over your home - ideal when someone ‘misplaces’ a handset. If you are looking for a cordless digital phone that is easy to use and install, then the Siemens Gigaset range has just what you are looking for your office or home.

Want to Get Hired in 2010?

A current job hunting campaign is by nature very complicated. While the Web has offered a variety of new communication channels, it also creates magnified competition for prime jobs and potential problems for job seekers.

Job hunts need to be thought of as a highly individual, highly targeted marketing and selling process where you are the product. Your resume is an ad. Your extended network is your lead generating engine.

So where does the Internet fit in? At AA-Careers, we recently put up a job on a job search site and got over 600 replies in a workweek. For just one opening. That’s exaggerated competition.

Had the right job hunter contacted us ahead of our posting that ad, they could have secured the job prior to getting all that competition. How? By knowing someone at our company who became aware of the job prior to posting. Everyone was aware of the job for at least 7 days before it was posted. Who in your extended network might know of a job that’s coming on the market soon?

So the good news is that job sites give you a sense of who is hiring, and for what kinds of careers. But once those jobs are posted, the rivalry is intense. You can still compete, if you have a well honed resume, designed to appeal directly and clearly to the recruiter. And if you have practiced interviewing - so you don’t stumble at a critical point.

Another downside to be aware of is how easily you can be checked on the internet. As we Googled several candidates, we ran into some pictures and comments that were in questionable taste. Nothing illegal, but enough to sway our thinking about who to hire.

AA-Careers provides a comprehensive set of services for Bay Area job seekers, providing our clients a personal career consultant, a managed job hunting campaign, modern tools like a personal website, video, highly targeted resume, and much more. Let us know if we can help you.

Be careful out there, and good hunting!

Constellation Ayxta Launches

The Constellation Ayxta, made by the Hampshire-based firm Vertu, contains no jewels or expensive metals, but is constructed from stainless steel, leather, ceramic and features a scratch-free sapphire glass screen.

To put this new mobile in context, the vast majority of people in the UK take two months to earn the amount of money that this phone costs out of the box. The amusing fact about this mobile is that it doesn’t come with any calls, texts or even data minutes included!

The Vertu Constellation Ayxta’s high price is only partly justified because of its top-end materials and that it has a hand built finish to it. Maybe they make some of these finishes from recycled mobile phones

The main reason is the two services that come included with the handset.

The primary service is the Vertu Concierge service, this can be accessed with the touch of a button that is built into in all Vertu mobiles. The service automatically puts the users in touch with a team who can sort out anything from airplane tickets, through to getting someone round to sort out your drains.

An additional service has been called the City Brief. The Vertu handset uses its built in global positioning system unit to work out where you are in the world and supply you with localised information on things like the best local places to eat, the pick of the weeks shows and events and similar localised information. Businessmen will also be informed of the local business etiquette.

O2’s Tech Support Service to Fix Any Computer Problem

Mobile broadband customers of O2 will be provided with a new technical support service called ‘O2 Tech Support’. This service promises to give customers a hassle-free internet experience.

O2 claims that its professional experts can resolve any technical issue, such as problems related to sending emails, formatting hard drives, setting up software or fighting malware. In other words, O2’s tech support team will manage practically any problem that a customer is usually incapable of managing because of his limited knowledge of these systems.

The service comes with a three month minimum contract term for which the charge per month is £7.34 onwards. The service will also be available on a one-off, pay-per-use basis. One-off service users will not be charged by O2 if it cannot remedy their problem.

Head of Pay Monthly at O2, Jonathan Earle said that the Tech Support concept was devised keeping in mind the fact that customers want a single place that can offer them a multitude of services including technical support, so that they do not have to visit a separate outlet for different requirements. If technical support is not what you’re after, but just more info on mobile broadband, then best refer to a dedicated mobile broadband website, which can be a one stop for advice, info, news and of course laptop deals.

O2’s new chargeable technical support service will be in place for additional assistance beyond its standard customer service. But customers would hope that the services which they are entitled to get for free under O2’s standard customer support do not get shoved into the chargeable Tech Support.

Uverse Service

My wife and I have tested out ATTs Uverse for about a month. Even though ATT makes a huge deal about the amount of HD channels it makes available, I am like the greater number of tv watchers who not only do not have a high definition TV, but also still use picture-tube-style analog sets.

We only hooked up U-verse to the tv in our family room. But the companies bundles will let you connect up to 3 and more if you are ready to pay more. The DVR hooks up to one TV, but the others can retrieve recorded shows off it.

I got the U400 plan, which gets you about 270 non-HD channels and starts at $99 a month. ATT has packed deals that mix U-verse and internet, but do not start getting worked up at the idea of unbelievably fst Web surfing. The internet access offered with Uverse is largely the same as ATT’s dsl package, though uploads are improved.

ATT installations take 2 to 4 hours, depending on if your house should be modified to accommodate U-verse. In my case, technicians had to change the wiring in the back of some of the phone jacks. Because I have been using analog, I’d not yet attempted a Video on Demand program, which U-verse includes. This gives you the option to choose from both movies and tv episodes from a selection of the premiere networks, including Starz, and play them on your Television like a DVD player.

Opera to Focus on Mobile Broadband Segment

Opera has announced that it would soon commercially release ‘Turbo’, a new version of its browser. The product aims to make browsing easier for people who have slow broadband connections, and is in line with Opera’s stated objective that it wants to provide the best browsing experience on any device.

Sluggish mobile broadband connections have been a major problem in the UK, as in most other countries. They are not even close to as fast as they claim to be and there are a large number of users who are quite frustrated with slow broadband speeds. This includes the users of netbooks, an increasingly popular device for connecting to the internet on the go. Turbo may come as a blessing to these users as it promises to improve browsing speeds by compressing pages by up to 80 percent. Opera’s own servers would compress the pages before sending them to the user’s browser and this is likely to result in speeds as fast as four times the current levels. If you are considering mobile broadband, click here for the top ISP’s offers with free laptops.

However, with the high degree of compression there are bound to be certain drawbacks as well. The resolution is likely to be compromised, but the company is claiming that Turbo would display website text and layout just as intended, and would also support services like AJAX and Flash.

Turbo is likely to heat up the netbook software market, as Microsoft has already declared that it would soon be releasing customized products for the device.
